At TM Forum we strive to produce inclusive and diverse events, providing a collaborative environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Diversity and inclusion are often absent from most technology companies’ missions. That needs to improve if communication service providers and their suppliers want to transform. And more importantly, it's ethically the right thing to do. Diversity is essential to transforming to a digital business.

TM Forum wants to push the boundaries even further in having a diverse and inclusive event going beyond male/female diversity.

TM Forum’s Diversity & Inclusion Council is a global collaboration project focused on making the telecommunications industry the most diverse and inclusive industry in the world. Achieving this goal will help accelerate transformation of the industry itself and underpin its continued success in the digital economy.

The Council provides a safe space for industry leaders to explore diversity and inclusion issues, understand best practices and obtain practical guidance as a connected community to help optimize performance, drive business transformation and build the workforce for the future. We also equip our members with the tools they need to accelerate change and improve their own individual diversity and inclusion initiatives.

our pledge

  • Increased diversity of speakers in the agenda:
    • Gender and geo-region
  • Increased number of sessions that focus on the need for a diverse and inclusive work force, addressing the skill gap if operators want to transform
  • Enact a rule to have no all-male panels
  • A code of conduct to ensure a harassment free event for everyone
  • Diversity & Inclusion Council with TM Forum staff and members
  • Offer charity donations to Codebar instead of speaker gifts to a charity focused on diversity inclusion.
    • Codebar enables underrepresented people to learn programming in a safe and collaborative environment and expand their career opportunities. To achieve this, Codebar runs free regular workshops, regular one-off events and tries to create opportunities for their students, making technology and coding more accessible.
